ChefN
- A BIT OF HISTORY
- LOOK OUT FOR
- THE LO-DOWN
Founded in Seattle over twenty years ago, designer David Holcombe first made a splash in 1982, when as he says, 'garlic came out of a plastic container in thin, dry flakes and the only cracked pepper you saw was if someone dropped the shaker'.The Garlic Machine was his first invention, followed by the iconic pepperball. Now, over 100 patents and trademarks later, they are the proud winners of two reddot design awards, and the I.D. 2005 Annual Design Review.
Sleek by name and nature, have a look for the Sleekstor range - and in particuar the Sleekstor Veggiesteam - colourful Silicone steamers with a steel core for stability and a flexible design that fits most pan sizes.
A company that shows innovative design can be applied to the most mundane seeming items. Whereas minor kitchen utensils could seem boring to some, Chef’n has grabbed the pepperbal by the ears and come up with some pleasingly aesthetic, yet fantastically handy items. And all this without the designer price tag.
