Our merchandising team try hard to be as selective as possible but there is so much lovely stuff out there that we always seem to end up with heaps of products to show you.
This means that, when browsing, you have to choose from several hundred thumbnail images representing several thousand products. So, to make sure you get to what you're after, quickly, but also enjoyably, we've made this little guide.
JUST BROWSING?
In that case, it's probably best to check out the various departments. Once you're in The Shop you can't miss them. The fast way is to use the navigation bar, which is always at the top of the site.
Each department will show you our favourite 36 products on the first page. To see more, just click through the pages or hit 'See all'. You can refine your selection using the filters in the left column. These allow you to narrow down by price bracket (we use Save, Sensible and Splurge) or by Product Type (e.g . Martini glass) or by Brand.
If you are a real Brand freak, you can browse our 100+ brands from any main department page or from the top nav bar and get the lowdown on each brand before viewing the products.
To make sure you don't miss anything, when you are looking at a particular product, we will usually also offer you a selection of other, similar, items underneath it.
KNOW WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR?
If you're in a department and know what sort of thing you need (e.g. bread bin) see if you can find it using the Product Type filter in the left column. The list of products is specific to each department.
The fastest way to find what you want is to use the Search box (top right). Hitting 'Go' will present you with all the products that have the word you typed anywhere in its associated text.
A PICTURE PAINTS UP TO 30 PRODUCTS
Finally, bear in mind that each thumbnail picture can be your route to one or many products. If the price says 'from' this means that there is more than one product behind it. These may be different sizes or colours or, as in a dinner service, may be up to 30 different pieces of a set.
