The principal difference between Green Pans and other non-stick pans is a new coating called Thermolon. This is ceramic and doesn't contain any carbon polymers (conventional non-stick coatings give off chemicals which act like CFCs on the ozone layer). It also means that it is temperature resistant up to 450 C, doesn't release fumes when over heated, and has the hardness of a 9H pencil!
They are guaranteed for 5 years but will last much longer.
